Hezbollah chief says Iran can defeat US and Israel in potential conflict
Hezbollah’s secretary general says Iran is capable of defeating the United States and Israel in any potential confrontation amid mounting tensions in the region caused by the US dispatch of its warships.
Speaking during a ceremony on Tuesday, Sheikh Naim Qassem congratulated the Iranian nation, government and Leader over the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
“Iran is the crown jewel of the world. It will endure and can defeat the United States and Israel in the confrontation currently underway, because anyone who stands with Almighty God is bound to be victorious,” he said.
Turning to developments in Lebanon, he said the country was no longer obliged to implement provisions of last year's ceasefire agreement with Israel, adding that a five-member monitoring committee should press Israel to comply with the deal rather than exerting pressure on Lebanon.
