Haj Mahmoud Gholipoor was the commander of the Gilan Quds16th battalion. He fought against Munafiqin in the west and the north forests, finally he was martyred during the holy defense.

Gen. Martyr Haj Mahmoud Gholipoor was born in a religious family on 1953 in Fars province. His father was from Gilan and his mother was from Isfahan. He had spent his chilhood years in Shiraz, since his father was a military officer they ought to change their cities according to his job so they moved to Tehran. Mahmoud finished his primary and the elementary levels in Tehran and they moved to Rasht and finished his education there.

At the youth period... he changed to liberal man and he wanted to stand against the crucial and opperessive regime so he had joined the fighters and the revolutionists and stood at the first line of the protesters.
After the Islamic Revolution Victory by the leadership of Imam Khomeini, he was set as one of the commanders of the Rasht Corps. Haj Mahmoud was too brave and clever. He played an important role in training the military issues since he knew different types of military tactics.
He always tried to fight against the Munafiqin in the east and the west of the country.
At the begining of the imposed war, he had joined the frontlines and stood against the Baathj forcez. Haj Mahmoud was the symbol of bravery and Issar for all his friends and commanders. Finally Mahmoud Gholipoor martyred at the Haj Emran region on 1956 and reached his old wish which was martyrdom.
